El sábado 28 de diciembre de 2013, el presidente Rafael Correa, durante su enlace sabatino 354, justificó el violento allanamiento de la vivienda del periodista Fernando Villavicencio, investigador del portal digital Plan V, donde ha publicado varios reportajes de supuesta corrupción en negocios petroleros y de seguros dónde estarían involucrados funcionarios y ex funcionarios del Gobierno ecuatoriano y las oficinas del asambleísta Cléver Jiménez, indicando que la fuerza policial actuó amparado en la Ley.
Según informo Correa, el gobierno habría realizado una investigación donde se determino que varios ministros de Estado, el Vicepresidente, el Asesor Jurídico de la Presidencia y el propio Presidente de la República fueron víctimas de espionaje, puesto que varios de sus mails habrían sido hackeados y que las pistas condujeron hacia el asambleísta de oposición Cléver Jiménez y a su asesor Fernando Villavicencio.
Correa además dijo que el allanamiento se hizo «en estricto apego a la ley, la Constitución con fiscal se realizaron allanamientos a las casas y oficinas de estos señores y se han encontrado unas cosas impresionantes, que no las voy a revelar todavía».
Desde su cuenta de Twitter @MashiRafael, el presidente Correa, también anuncio: “Hace meses hackeo de cuentas del Presidente y altos funcionarios. Investigaciones llevaron a Cléver Jiménez y su «asesor», Fernando Villavicencio. Con orden judicial se han hecho allanamientos. Descubrimientos sorprendentes. Tenemos todo filmado, así que no les servirá de mucho victimizarse como de costumbre. Se han descubierto cosas realmente graves, que en su momento y de acuerdo al debido proceso en su momento las sabrá el país. ¡Es terrible lo que ha estado haciendo esa gente!”
El Primer Mandatario, además de arremeter contra Villavicencio y Jiménez, descalificó el reporte que de este caso hizo Fundamedios «vean el boletín de Fundamedios para que constaten cómo juegan con la buena fe de la gente» (…) ¿Saben lo que está diciendo Fundamedios? ¿Saben lo que está posicionando? ¿Saben los antivalores que está transmitiendo? Qué verguenza, esto es inaudito (…) a rechazar tanta caretucada, tanta falta de escrúpulos, tanta corrupción de esta seudo fundación, ONG como Fundamedios que lo que hace es tratar de ocultar la deshonestidad de la gente que le conviene”, sentenció.
Luego de este llamado aparecieron amenazas y los ataques a través de las redes sociales de Fundamedios.

La noche de pasado 27 de diciembre de 2013, el Fiscal José Luis Jaramillo, junto a un piquete de 10 elementos del Grupo de Intervención y Rescate (GIR), allanó la vivienda del periodista Fernando Villavicencio, investigador del portal digital Plan V. El viernes 28, se allanaron la casa y oficinas del asambleísta Cléver Jiménez.

On Saturday December 28, 2013 , President Rafael Correa justified the violent raid on the home of journalist Fernando Villavicencio, indicating that the police force acted covered by Law.
According Correa, the government would have conducted an investigation which determined that several ministers, the Vice President, the Legal Advisor to the President and the President of the Republic and himself were victims of espionage because many of his emails had been hacked, and that the investigation led to opposition Assemblyman Cléver Jimenez and his advisor Fernando Villavicencio.
Correa also said that the raid was in strict accordance with the law and Ecuadorian Constitution, and further mentioned that the raids were conducted at the homes and offices of these gentlemen and found amazing things that will not be revealed yet.
From his Twitter account @MashiRafael , President Correa also announced that the investigation threw that the accounts had been hacked by Cléver Jimenez and his ‘ advisor’, Fernando Villavicencio: “The raids were carried out and amazing discoveries were made”. We have it all in film, so they cannot victimize themselves as usual. Serious things were discovered, really serious things, that at the due time and according to due process the country will know. It’s terrible what these people have been doing! «.
Besides discrediting Villavicencio and Jimenez, the President also dismissed the report of Fundamedios about this case: «pay attention to Fundamedios´ report, note how they play with the good faith of the people » (… ) Do you know what is Fundamedios saying? Do you know what is positioning? Do the anti-values that is transmitting? What a shame, we must reject this shameless act , so unscrupulous , so much corruption in this pseudo- foundation Fundamedios, an NGOs which is trying to hide the dishonesty of some people» said.

The night of December 26, 2013, the Prosecutor José Luis Jaramillo, along with 10 members of Group Intervention and Rescue (GIR ) , raided the home of journalist Fernando Villavicencio. On Friday 27, the home and offices of Assemblyman Cléver Jimenez was raided as well.
