El 22 de febrero el administrador de la página satírica de Facebook “Ecuatoriano hasta las huevas” fue amenazado por un usuario de esa red social quien le advirtió que recibirá flores y “será el siguiente” sino se abstiene de publicar temas sobre el gobierno. Esto en referencia a la amenaza que recibió el administrador de la conocida página satírica Crudo Ecuador, quien recibió una carta de amenaza junto a un ramo de flores.
En diálogo con Fundamedios, el administrador de “Ecuatoriano hasta las huevas”, quien ha preferido acogerse a su derecho al anonimato, aseguró que esta amenaza ocurrió después de que Crudo Ecuador anunció su cierre y tras mensajes publicados en respaldo y solidaridad a su colega de Facebook. La amenaza llegó a través de un mensaje directo de un usuario que se identifica como Juan Medina, quien escribió: “Hola sabemos quién eres te llamas (…) el siguiente serás tú ya que después de matarlo al administrador de crudo ecuador no puliques nada del gobierno o te mandaremos flores a ti también, sabemos que vives en Brooklyn el siguiente seras tu (ojo)” SIC . Al día siguiente, este mismo usuario escribió otro mensaje amenazante: “Yo no soy el que quiere hacerte daño (…) a mí me pagan por verte muerto…” Nuevamente fue advertido a que deje de publicar cosas del gobierno y le manifestaron que lo mantendrán vigilado.
Según el administrador de la página, esta no es la primera cyber-amenaza que ha recibido desde que el Presidente declaró oficialmente la “batalla” a sus críticos en redes sociales. También comentó que ha tenido problemas con su cuenta personal de Facebook, que ha sido dada de baja por motivos que desconoce.
Death threats against another manager of a satirical page on Facebook
On 22 February the manager of the satirical Facebook page “Ecuatoriano hasta las huevas” was threatened by a user of this social network who warned him that he will receive flowers and “will be the next” if he does not refrain from publishing government related articles. This was a reference to the threat received by the administrator of the well-known satirical page Crudo Ecuador, who received a threatening letter with a bouquet of flowers.
The page’s manager, who has preferred to invoke his right to anonymity, told Fundamedios that the threat came after Crudo Ecuador announced its closure and after messages were posted expressing support and solidarity with his Facebook colleague. The threat came as a direct message from a user identified as Juan Medina, who wrote: “Hi we know who you are your name is (…) you will be the following after killing the administrator of Crudo Ecuador don’t publish anything about the government or we will send you flowers too, we know you live in Brooklyn you will be the next (watch out)” SIC. The next day, this same user wrote another threatening message: “I am not the one who wants to hurt you (…) I get paid so they can see you dead…” Again he was warned to stop publishing things about the government and stated they are watching him.
According to the page’s manager, this is not the first cyber-threat he has received since the president officially declared the “war” against his critics in the social networks. He also commented that he has had problems with his personal Facebook account, which has been terminated for reasons unknown to him.
