La tarde del 27 de marzo de 2014 la cuenta de Twitter del presidente Rafael Correa @MashiRafael fue hackeada. El grupo denominado Anonymous Ecuador se atribuyó el ataque, que duró aproximadamente cuatro horas. Una vez recuperado el control de la cuenta, el Jefe de Estado culpó del hecho a la extrema derecha extranjera en complicidad con “inescrupulosos opositores nacionales”.
El hackeo ocurrió pasadas las 16:00 con un ‘tuit’ que hacía referencia a supuestas denuncias contra el Ministro del Interior y el Secretario Nacional de Inteligencia e invitaban aseguir a la cuenta Anonynews. Cerca de las 20:30 y una vez que se eliminaron dichos mensajes, el Presidente aclaró lo ocurrido e indicó que se trató de un hackeo en donde se enviaron mensajes, “con las infamias de siempre”. Tras esto, el Ministerio del Interior y la Secretaría Nacional de Inteligencia indicaron en un comunicado que investigarán «este atentado a la seguridad interna y personal del presidente de la República (…) hasta las últimas consecuencias».
El 29 de marzo, durante el Enlace Ciudadano No 367, el Primer Mandatario se refirió nuevamente a estos hechos e indicó que está permanentemente bajo los ataques de piratas informáticos, “vinculados a la oposición nacional y extrema derecha de países bien conocidos con vinculaciones de políticos, algunos corruptos, con un historial delictivo terrible”.
Tras esto aseguró que no es la primera vez y que anteriormente ya hackearon la cuenta de un familiar, robaron fotos personales y las presentaron a través del usuario @burgueseslatam en Twitter. Cuenta que según el Presidente “reportaba sus actividades al inefable Fernando Villavicencio, Cléver Jiménez, Pablo Jaramillo Viteri que funge de periodista de Vanguardia. Toda esa gente que realmente odia, pero personalmente, no son adversarios políticos ni rivalidades ideológicas porque odian, tratan de destruir al Presidente de la República. Para que vean los angelitos que enfrentamos.”, dijo el Primer Mandatario. En ese sentido también mencionó a la tuitera @basoledispa de quien dijo “es una odiadora, que lanza bazofia y media desde Nueva York”, así como al político Galo Lara y al ex entrevistador Carlos Vera Real.
Finalmente y tras mostrar los nombres de las personas que supuestamente estarían detrás del hackeo de su cuenta, el Presidente dijo: “Es un ataque permanente y no es para hacer bromas, sino para hacer daño para que esta gente pueda desfogar toda su malicia, miseria humana. Solo les digo esto para que sepan lo que tenemos que enfrentar día a día y quienes están alrededor de esto. Vean las direcciones de los que participan en estas infamias, en estas miserias humanas. Odiadores, sicarios de tinta disfrazados de periodistas» .
Por su parte, el periodista Pablo Jaramillo, en una columna escrita en el portal Ecuadorenvivo aseguró que las acusaciones que hizo el Presidente carecen de pruebas. “Considero que esa afirmación es una infamia, sobre la cual presentaré una queja ante la Superintendencia de Comunicación. El mandatario dijo que desde esta cuenta se lanzó información obtenida de forma fraudulenta, como parte de una estrategia en su contra. La verdad es que nunca supe de la existencia de esta cuenta, sino hasta este pasado sábado. Personalmente sospecho que se trata de iniciar una campaña de desprestigio en mi contra y vincularme con actores de la oposición”, apuntó el periodista.
President Twitter account is hacked and he blames the fact to «unscrupulous opponents”
On the afternoon of March 27th, 2014 the Twitter account of President Rafael Correa @ MashiRafael was hacked. The group called Anonymous Ecuador arrogated as the authors of the attack, which lasted about four hours. Once regained control of the account, the Head of State blamed to the extreme right of foreign countries in complicity with «unscrupulous local opponents.»
The hacking occurred after 16:00 with a ‘tweet’ referring to alleged complaints against the Minister of the Interior and the Secretary of National Intelligence and invited to follow the Anonynews account. Near 20:30 and once the messages were removed, the President clarified what happened and said it was a hack where messages were sent, «with the usual infamy.» After this, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of National Intelligence said in a statement that they will investigate «this attack of the President’s internal security and staff (…) to the end.»
On March 29, during the President’s broadcasting Saturday’s program No 367, Mr. Correa referred again to the hacking and said he is constantly under attack by hackers, «linked to national and well known far-right links countries with political opposition some corrupt, with a terrible criminal history.»
After that he said it is not the first time and that this happens and said that previously someone hacked the account of a family, stole personal photos and presented through the user @ burgueseslatam on Twitter. An account that according to the President «reports their activities to the ineffable Fernando Villavicencio, Cléver Jiménez, and Pablo Jaramillo Viteri journalist of Vanguardia magazine. All those people who really hate, but personally, are not political opponents and ideological rivalries because they hate, they only try to destroy the President. In this sense he also mentioned the twitterer @basoledispa who, according to the President «is a hater that throws garbage and more from New York» as well as the political Galo Lara and former Real interviewer Carlos Vera.
Finally, after showing the names of persons who were allegedly behind the hacking of his account, the President said: «It is an ongoing attack, not to make jokes, but to harm so these people can vent all their wickedness, and human misery. I’m telling you this so you know what we have to face every day and those around it. See the addresses of those involved in these despicable acts these human miseries. Haters, ink killers disguised as journalists. «
In the other hand, the journalist Pablo Jaramillo, in an article written in the website Ecuadorenvivo said the allegations made by the President have no proof. «I think that the statements said by the President are an infamy, so I will present a complaint to the Superintendent of Communication. The president said that from this account was launched information obtained fraudulently as part of a strategy against him. The truth is that I never knew of the existence of this account, until this past Saturday. Personally I suspect it comes to starting a smear campaign against me and bond with opposition actors, «said the journalist.
