ENGLISH VERSION Luego de la salida del aire del portal informativo FocusEcuador, los portales de noticias e investigación PlanV y MilHojas también han sido sacados del aire, o se encuentran intermitentes. Esto después de que ambos medios compartieron un reportaje que iba a ser publicado la mañana del 9 de mayo en Focus Ecuador sobre “Los grandes contratos petroleros” y los supuestos vínculos del exGerente de la estatal petrolera con empresas offshore.
El periodista Juan Carlos Calderón, director de la revista PlanV confirmó que su portal ha sido víctima de ataques cibernéticos del tipo DDOs, o denegación de servicios desde la noche del 9 de mayo, lo que ha llevado a que el acceso al portal sea intermitente.
MilHojas también confirmó que el portal se encuentra bajo ataque y al momento permanece fuera del aire, tras haber compartido el reportaje de Focus Ecuador.
Al momento, FocusEcuador y tras permanecer casi 24 horas inaccesible, el portal ha sido finalmente restablecido.
Antes de la salida del aire del portal, se conoció que FocusEcuador recibió dos reclamos presentados el 6 de mayo por,la SECOM tres días antes, por el supuesto uso ilegítimo de varias imágenes del Primer Mandatario. Ese mismo portal también recibió el reclamo del partido oficialista Alianza PAÍS y su secretaria ejecutiva, Doris Soliz, por motivos similares.
Two more web pages suffered cyber-attacks after sharing an article about oil contracts
After the informative portal FocusEcuador went off the air, the news and research portals PlanV and MilHojas have also been taken off the air or they are intermittent. This occurred after both media outlets shared an article that was going to be published in the morning of May 9th in Focus Ecuador website about “The major oil contracts” and the alleged relation between the ex-manager of the state oil company with offshore corporations.
The journalist Juan Carlos Calderón, director of the magazine PlanV, confirmed that his portal has been victim of cyber-attacks, specifically denial-of-service (DDOs) attacks, since the night of May 9th, which has resulted in the intermittence of the website when accessing it.
MilHojas also confirmed that the portal is under attack and at the moment, it went off the air after sharing the article of Focus Ecuador.
At the moment, FocusEcuador, after being almost inaccessible during 24 hours, has finally been restored.
Before of going off the air, it was informed that FocusEcuador received two complaints on May 6th by SECOM, three days before the attacks occurred, for the alleged illegitimate use of several images of the Head of the State. This same portal also received a complaint by the party ruling Alianza PAÍS and its executive secretary, Doris Soliz, for similar reasons.
