El sábado 13 de julio desconocidos ‘hackearon’ el portal de noticias de la provincia de Los Ríos, www.aldia.com.ec. El ataque informático dejó fuera del aire al sitio y además eliminó todos los archivos noticiosos y material periodístico que en él se encontraban.
El periodista Guido Bricio, propietario del portal electrónico denunció a Fundamedios que ocurrieron dos ataques, uno al mediodía del sábado y otro en la tarde del domingo. En ambas ocasiones se insertaron códigos maliciosos que destruyeron la programación de la página, borraron toda la información y las plantillas web. Según Bricio, restablecer el portal tomaría varios días pues prácticamente tendrá que empezar el trabajo desde cero con un nuevo sitio.
En el primer ataque, se pudo ver una pantalla en negro con una leyenda en letras rojas que decía: «Hacked By GameOvers», mientras que en el segundo, que fue más agresivo y que terminó por borrar los archivos del sitio, se vio una fotografía de una persona encapuchada con la máscara del film V for Vendetta que usualmente es utilizada por los piratas informáticos conocidos como Anonymous y la leyenda: «Hacked, estamos dentro nuevamente» .
Para Bricio el ataque constituye un intento por silenciar y hacer daño al medio de comunicación que dirigía, y aunque desconoce quién podría estar detrás de esto, cree que no es un simple hackeo, pues se han borrado intencionalmente más de 50 mil archivos de artículos noticiosos.
Bricio comentó que «Al Día» es un portal digital líder en su provincia que desde su creación, hace un año, ha logrado tener cerca de 22 mil lectores diarios. Al momento, el portal permanece inhabilitado y al ingresar solamente se puede ver una página en blanco y un mensaje en inglés que dice «página no disponible».
News web page is hacked and their files destroyed
On July 13, news website www.aldia.com.ec., from Los Rios was hacked. The attack took down the site and deleted all news archives and journalistic material saved there.
Guido Bricio journalist and owner of the website, told Fundamedios that two other attacks occured: at noon on Saturday and on Sunday evening.Two types of malware were implanted to destroy the programing, deleting all the information and web grills. According to Bricio, making the site operational again took several days, since they almost had to start to build it from scratch.
In the first attack, a black screen and red letter that read “Hacked by GameOvers” appeared, while the second attack deleted the site´s archives, while showing a picture of the character from he movie “V for Vendetta”, usually used by cyber pirates globally known as Anonymous. A message saying “Hacked, we are in again” could be read in screen.
Bricio believes that the attack intends to silence their work, although he ignores who could be the author of the attack. He thinks it is particularly suspicious that over fifty thousand files were deleted.
Bricioindicated that “Al Dia” is a news website with over twenty-two thousand readers since it was launched a year ago. Currently, the site is inaccessible due to the attack, and it shows a message indicating it is not available.
