Desde el 25 de agosto de 2014 y en horas posteriores el portal de periodismo lahistoria.ec ha sufrido tres ataques consecutivos a sus servidores, ocasionando la salida del aire de la página.
En diálogo con Fundamedios, Daniela Aguilar, directora del portal aseguró que el primer ataque ocurrió el día 25 sobre las 17:00, pudiendo confirmar a través de los técnicos que fue un ataque dirigido al servidor. Tras esto, el portal fue restituido al día siguiente en horas de la mañana. Sin embargo, un segundo ataque ocurrido a las 14:00 y un tercero ocurrido a la media noche provocó la caída definitiva de la red, sin que hasta el momento hayan podido restituirla.
Aguilar aseguró que el objetivo de estos ataques es su página porque al parecer, “alguien no quiere que estemos al aire”, por lo que están trabajando en reforzar las seguridades para afrontar nuevos ataques ya que está segura que si vuelven al aire ocurrirán nuevamente .
Lahistoria.ec es un nuevo portal de periodismo de investigación que, a criterio de su directora, “publica lo que no sale en los medios”. Este portal apareció el 14 de julio de este año y los últimos temas que publicaron el último fin de semana fueron: «El extraño caso de Jorge Glas Viejó» y «El Veto al Código Monetario, entre banqueros y medianoche».
Según Aguilar, parece que esta información no fue del agrado de alguien porque a partir de esas publicaciones recibieron ataques.
Investigative joournalism website goes off the air for several hours after cyber attacks
From August 25th, 2014 the news website lahistoria.ec suffered three consecutive attacks on their servers. The portal is now off the air.
Speaking to Fundamedios, Daniela Aguilar, the websites director said the first attack occurred on the 25th at 17:00, and could confirm with the technician, that it was a targeted attack to the server. After that, the site was restored the next day in the morning. However, a second attack occurred at 14:00 and a third occurred at midnight caused the final collapse of the media outlet, been unable to restore it.
Aguilar said the goal of these attacks is their site because apparently, «someone does not want us on the air», so they are working to strengthen the securities in order to face new attacks because she is sure that if they return to air, they will be attacked again.
Lahistoria.ec is a new investigative journalism website, that «publishes what other media don’t» This site appeared on 14 July this year and the topics published last weekend were: «The Strange Case of Jorge Glas viejó» and «The Monetary Code, bankers and midnight.» According to Aguilar, it appears that this information disliked someone because after these publications, the attacks started.
