Luego de una rueda de prensa ofrecida por el caso de las deportaciones a ciudadanos cubanos, Twitter suspendió este 12 de julio la cuenta del abogado Ramiro García, presidente del Colegio de Abogados de Pichincha. García es conocido en la red social por ser muy crítico con el gobierno, y en estos últimos días, el jurista había estado muy activo al cuestionar el accionar de las autoridades frente al tema de las expulsiones a los ciudadanos cubanos, según denunció.
Con más de 15 mil seguidores, la cuenta de García, @ramirogarciaf, aparece actualmente inaccesible y con el mensaje “esta cuenta ha sido suspendida”. Sin embargo, García aseguró a Fundamedios, que Twitter todavía no le ha notificado ni dado explicación alguna de la suspensión, ni cual podría haber sido el ‘tuit’ o mensaje que detonó esta acción. Lo único que tiene claro es que alguien tiene que haberlo denunciado para que la red social proceda a suspenderlo. ”Parece que el análisis jurídico de algunas incorrecciones que se cometen desde los diferentes poderes le afecta y le preocupa a mas de uno, porque si Twitter suspendio mi cuenta es porque alguien reclamó”, apuntó García para quien es una coincidencia que la suspensión ocurra justamente la mañana en la que el Colegio de Abogados dio la rueda de prensa para denunciar la expulsión colectiva de los ciudadanos cubanos.
Al momento Garcia ha enviado un reclamo a la red social y está a la espera de una contestación, mientras tanto, en redes sociales sus seguidores han activado un hashtag bajo el nombre: “#QueremosARamiroGarciaFDeVuelta” con diferentes mensajes de apoyo y de crítica en contra de la censura ejercida por la red social.
Twitter suspends President of Lawyer’s association of Pichincha's account
After a press conference on the case of the deportation of Cuban citizens, on 12 July Twitter suspended the account of attorney Ramiro García, president of the Bar Association of Pichincha. García is known in the social network for being very critical of the government, and in recent days the lawyer had been very active, questioning the actions of the authorities on the issue of the expulsion of Cuban citizens.
With more than 15 thousand followers, Garcia's account, @ramirogarciaf, currently appears as inaccessible showing the message "This Account Has Been Suspended". García, however, told Fundamedios that Twitter has still not notified him or given any explanation for the suspension, or which could have been the 'tweet' or message that triggered this action. The only thing clear to him is that somebody must have denounced him in order for the social network to suspend his account. "It seems that the legal analysis of some improprieties committed by the different powers affects and concerns more than one, because if Twitter suspended my account it is because someone complained", said García, for whom it is a coincidence that the suspension occurred in the morning when the Bar Association gave a press conference to denounce the collective expulsion of Cuban citizens.
García has sent a complaint to the social network and is awaiting a reply. Meanwhile, in the social media his followers have activated a hashtag that reads: "#QueremosARamiroGarciaFDeVuelta" (#wewantARamiroGarciaFback) with different messages of support and criticism against the censorship by the social network.
