El 1 de abril de 2014, la página web de la revista latinoamericana de comunicación Chasqui fue hackeada y sus archivos borrados, por lo que al momento permanece fuera del aire.
El Centro internacional de Estudios Superiores para América Latina CIESPAL, entidad que edita la revista, informó en un comunicado que el ataque cibernético se produjo en horas de la noche y que este afectó los archivos contenidos en sus servidores, así como el repositorio digital de la institución .
Alexander Amézquita, editor de la revista Chasqui dijo a Fundamedios que se borraron todas las publicaciones contenidas en el repositorio digital, incluido el archivo de la revista con las ediciones anteriores, así como textos académicos y de investigación, entre otros. Sin embargo, dijo desconocer los motivos de este ataque del que cree, fue un hecho discriminado.
Amézquita aseguró que esperan restablecer el sitio www.revistachasqui.com para el próximo 8 de abril.
Academic journal website hacked
On April 1st, 2014, the Latin American Magazine of communication Chasqui web site, was hacked and deleted files, for that reason today remains outside air.
International Center for Advanced Studies for Latin America “CIESPAL” entity that publishes the journal, said in a statement that cyber-attack came in at night and this affected the files contents on its servers, and the digital repository of the institution.
Amézquita Alexander, Chasqui magazine’s editor, told Fundamedios that all publications contained in the digital repository were deleted, including the journal files with the previous editions, as well as academic texts and research, among others. However, he said he was unaware of the reasons; he believes this attack was a discriminated fact.
